How to use Mepco Bill Calculator

Protected vs Non-Protected Consumers

When you use a calculator, you make this mistake. You don’t check which category you fall into, protected or non-protected. If you want to know about them, it’s explained below.

Protected Category: Those who use fewer than 200 units for six consecutive months are in the protected zone, and their per-unit rate is approximately 16 to 22 rupees.

Non-Protected Category: If your unit usage exceeds 200 even once in six months. You are in the non-protected category. Your per-unit rate will then be a flat 32 or 35 rupee.

FAQs

Yes. If you have used more than 200 units and you are in the non-protected category, taxes will be added. So each unit will cost you 50 or 65 rupees. Our calculator provides your results based on these new rates.

The easiest way is to make sure you use fewer than 200 units continuously for six months. That will keep you in the protected zone. Remember, if you go over even one unit, you’ll go straight into the higher tier and your bill will double.
